Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SEC) has formalised the Heads of Agreement with SBH Kibing Solar New Energy (M) Sdn. Bhd. to supply natural gas to its upcoming Glass Factory 2 in Kimanis. Under this agreement, SEC will deliver 45 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of natural gas to support the factoryโ€™s operations.

The Heads of Agreement handover ceremony between Datuk Adzmir Abd Rahman, the Chief Executive Officer of SEC, and Celine Li, the Deputy Managing Director of SBH Kibing Solar New Energy, was officiated in the presence of the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor; Minister of Industrial Development & Entrepreneurship YB Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, SEC Chairman YB Datuk Annuar Ayub, State Secretary, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Haji Safar Untong; and Mr. Liu Li Wu from SBH Kibing.

The ceremony, held at Sawit Kinabalu office, also included an exchange of documents of Sublease Agreement between Fokasrama Sdn Bhd, an entity under Sawit Kinabalu and SBH Kibing Solar New Energy (M) Sdn. Bhd.

In March of last year, SEC also signed a long-term gas agreement with SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M) Sdn. Bhd. for its solar panel manufacturing project at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP). Both SBH Kibing Solar New Materials and SBH Kibing Solar New Energy are subsidiaries of the China-based Kibing Group.

As Sabahโ€™s primary natural gas provider, this agreements highlighted SECโ€™s important role in driving regional economic growth through reliable and cleaner energy solutions.
