Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC) has launched a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in collaboration with the Sabah Autism Society, marking the official start of the Autism Farm in Tuaran. The initiative reflects SEC’s commitment to supporting community empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive development in Sabah.
The launch was officiated by SEC Group CEO, Datuk Ir. Adzmir Abd Rahman, together with the Society’s President, Puan Jennifer Balanting, and its committee members. Joined by 35 SEC employees, the team planted the first 100 roselle seedlings—symbolising the beginning of a sustainable, community-driven agricultural project with room for growth and long-term impact.
Beyond the symbolic planting, SEC is providing comprehensive support to ensure the farm’s success. This includes land clearing, installation of irrigation systems, supply of seedlings, tools, and ongoing maintenance. The initiative aims not only to establish the farm but also to ensure that it is equipped for lasting productivity.
The roselle harvest will later be processed into juice, offering the Sabah Autism Society a steady source of income to sustain and expand its programmes for children with special needs. This value-added approach strengthens the Society’s capacity to deliver essential services and reduce its reliance on donations.
The Sabah Autism Society has long championed autism awareness and support for children with special needs, often operating with limited resources. SEC is honoured to stand alongside the Society in this journey, contributing to the creation of opportunities, financial resilience, and greater community understanding.
