SEC, ASB contribute RM200,000 to Sandakan fire victims

SANDAKAN, SABAH: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SEC) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB), have contributed RM200,000 to the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee to assist victims of the recent fire at Kampung Bahagia here.

The contribution was presented by SEC deputy chairman Datuk Hassan A Gani Pg Amir, accompanied by ASB chairman and Member of Parliament for Labuan YB Datuk Indera Dr. Haji Suhaili Bin Abdul Rahman to the State Secretary YB Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Haji Safar Bin Untong, JP, during a ceremony held in Sandakan.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Bin Haji Noor, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Malaysia YB Datuk Armizan Bin Mohd Ali, Minister of Tourism, Cuture & Environment Sabah, YB Datuk Jaffry Ariffin, Deputy Minister of Human Resources Malaysia who is also Batu Sapi MP, YB Datuk Firdaus Akbar Khan, Sandakan MP, YB Vivian Wong and Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk Walter Kenson.

As a wholly owned state government-linked company, the SEC group of companies carries responsibilities that extend beyond economic development to include the welfare of the people, with the contribution aimed at helping to ease the burden faced by those affected by the fire.
