1981
Foundation of SEC
SEC was incorporated as a statutory body by State Assembly of Sabah as the upstream arm of Sabah Gas Utilisation Project (SGUP) in F.T Labuan.
1992
SGUP Restructure
After the restructuring of SGUP (SEC remain with the State Government).
1997
Corporatization of SEC
SEC was corporatized and became Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (Sabah Energy Corporation Enactment 1981 was repealed).
1997
Operations in Labuan Continue
SEC Remain as the Natural Gas Provider in F.T Labuan
2001
1st Customer in Sabah
SEC started supplying to its 1st Industrial Customer in KKIP
2012
Malaysia's 1st Virtual Pipeline System (VPS)
SEC began supplying Natural Gas in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) through a virtual pipeline system (VPS), serving 9 industrial clients in Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran
2019
Pioneering Small LNG in Malaysia
SEC Introduced Malaysia's first Small Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities at KKIP.
2023
Sabah Leading Supplier of Natural Gas
SEC has solidified its position as the largest supplier and distributor of natural gas in Sabah, catering to the needs of independent power producers and industrial players across the region.
